2020 Business Planning for Agents

Three strategies on how to make 2020 your best year yet!

These are things that we're talking about on our own team and things that I definitely think any agent wants to be contemplating as you're rolling into 2020 here and to make it your best year yet.
So first of all, strategy number one. Start with the end in mind. How many units are you going to sell in 2020? How much GCI is that going to create? What are your expenses going to look like? Start with the end in mind, is strategy number one. When you have a very clear roadmap of where you want to end up at, it's a lot easier to make those commitments daily, weekly, monthly to actually get there. We've defined the target.

Strategy number two, develop your perfect daily schedule. Make sure you've got some personal time built into your morning or evening routine so you've got time to go to the gym, time to do maybe some meditation, or some affirmations. Time to get your mind in the game, but don't neglect yourself. Take care of yourself in 2020 that will tee you up to have a smashing 2020 in your business as well. And then I would recommend the clean end to your day as a real estate agent as well. What I've discovered as an agent is that oftentimes you just work, work, work, work, work, and it just keeps going. When you get home, the laptop comes out, you're still working. I would encourage you to draw a line, maybe it's seven o'clock where you're going to wait to respond to calls and emails. You're going to maybe do that digital detox. You're going to unplug, be present with your family and have that clean end to your day.

So strategy number one was start with the end in mind. Strategy number two was develop your perfect daily schedule and strategy number three is of course, accountability. You have to have this ingredient to get to where you want to go. So, a component of accountability is tracking your numbers. We recommend CCU or CTE to know your numbers. You need to be updating that daily or have an admin doing it for you so you know exactly where you're at. Make sure your goals have been put in there as well so you're tracking your actual versus where you're targeting to be and adjusting as needed and then share that with your coach. You got to get a real estate coach if you don't have one holding you accountable. It's going to help you progress a lot faster when you're able to work with someone weekly or twice a month that's going to share with you the strategies that have helped them be successful. You can glean off of them. They can mentor you. They can coach and really help you short circuit that time to get from where you're at to where you want to go.

And then a couple of questions I would ask you in regards to hiring a coach is, are you coachable? If you're not willing to be coachable, and step outside your comfort zone, and do things the coach tells you to do, even if they make you uncomfortable, don't bother hiring a coach. Because that's exactly what you need to do when you hire one. You need to do things that make you uncomfortable. You make sure you do things that stretch you and maybe that you don't like doing to get to where you want to go and a coach is going to push you to do those things.

The other thing is are you truly receptive to accountability? Like a lot of us say we love accountability but then when we get accountability, we don't like it as much. But you have to have that ingredient to get to where you want to go. You need to have that person in your life that's going to say, hey, you didn't do what you said you're going to do. You need to get refocused and get back on track. And are you to do things that make you uncomfortable? These are all ingredients to accountability.
So the three strategies again. Start with the end in mind. The second, develop your perfect daily schedule and the third, make sure you've got that accountability piece built into your life somewhere somehow. These are the three strategies worth thinking about right now on our team. If you've got questions about how to build these into your business, I want you to reach out to me on Facebook. I am happy to hop on a 15 minute call with you and help you get clarity to these strategies. Mike Novak from the Novak Real Estate team
