Think You’re Ready to Move to Lake Stevens?
We know you’ve seen all kinds of reasons to move here or there but have you ever read about why you shouldn’t move somewhere? I mean, from someone that’s actually trying to sell you something? Maybe not. But knowing the cons of an area can be just as informative and knowing the pros. If you think you may be ready to move to Lake Stevens let us tell you some of the truths about this fabulous lake town. So here is our take on NOT moving to Lake Stevens if you can’t handle these things:
#1. The Traffic
Yes, Lake Stevens has traffic. We are a huge business hub and the intersection at James Village along Highway 9 is a major traffic hub and one you need to know about if you’re traveling Highway 9 often. During rush hour or basically between about 2:30 - 5pm, the stretch going north can be a pain. There are a lot of ways around it though and once you get to know the backroads it’s not so bad.
#2. Big Shopping Centers
Lake Stevens has boomed recently with the addition of Target, Costco, Michaels, Ross, TJ Maxx, Haggens, and more, a lot of folks now come to Lake Stevens to shop rather than go to Everett or Seattle. This means that if you like being close to these stores, GREAT! IF not, Lake Stevens may not be for you.
#3. Can’t Wait for a Table at a Restaurant
Okay, this may be a stretch but with new places like LJs Bistro and the Ram and other tried and true restaurants, you may end up waiting for a table but don’t worry, most are WELL-WORTH the wait!
#4. Excellent Schools
This seems like an oxymoron I get, but Lake Stevens has some of the best schools around and most don’t take variances from other cities so you need to be in the Lake Stevens district to qualify. If you want your kids to be in the best schools in Snohomish County - Lake Stevens is where it’s at.
#5. Close to Nature
Lake Stevens is not only ON a lake where you can boat, waterski, paddleboard, kayak, canoe, tube, fish and jet ski but you’re close to hundreds of miles of great trails, the foothills of the cascades and amazing nature right out your back door. Lake Steven is home to one of the top Disc Golf courses in the state as well as parks, nature preserves and rivers.
Okay, okay, these may not seem bad (except for maybe the traffic) but it’s important to know why people love it here and why some people may not. If you’re interested in learning more about Lake Stevens, give us a call or search all Lake Stevens homes for sale here now.
