Top 5 Reasons to Move to Arlington

Are you curious why so many people are making the move to Arlington Washington?

There are a lot of reasons why people move to Arlington, and today I am going to share with you my top 5.

As a busy real estate agent, I've helped dozens of families make the move to Arlington and have a unique perspective from these interactions on why this area is becoming so popular.

#1 - The Downtown Area

Arlington has a true Main Street vibe bustling with restaurants, bars, retail and plenty to do and see for a full day with the family. Parking the car and exploring this area on foot is the way to do it. There are also a lot of neighborhoods with homes that are within walking distance to Downtown Arlington as well, which is a really fun and attractive lifestyle for many.

#2 - Big Box Shopping

while the downtown area of Arlington is all small business, when you go out to the Smokey Point area (just off I-5) you will find yourself in the middle of a ton of national chains and big box opportunities. Brands like Costco, Target, Best Buy, Dick's Sporting Goods and many more. There are also a number of chain restaurants in this same area just in case you get hungry as you shop. Buffalo Wild Wings, Hopjacks, The Bonefish Grill, MOD Pizza and Red Robin are just a few of them.

#3 - Mega Employers

Amazon opened a MASSIVE fulfillment center off 172nd in 2022, and that has brough a ton of jobs to the area, so it is of course on my top 5 reasons why people move to Arlington. This place looks like it is the size of a professional sports stadium.

#4 - Acreage Properties

If you are someone that is looking for acreage, maybe a farm or a horse property, then Arlington is full of options for you. Much of Arlington is rural and you will find plenty of acreage properties available to go check out.

#5 - The Parks

Arlington has a lot of really nice parks, and it is without a doubt one of the reasons that people move to Arlington. Haller Park is our families favorite as it is really walking distance from downtown, has a great splash park, access to the river, and even a snack shop to get the kids a treat at.
